Craft Related Links

It's about time I start posting some interesting links. That way, they'll be easy to access and I won't have to try to remember "where did I see that ________?"

So, in no particular order, some of my fave links:

Instructions for a very cute twirly skirt.
I'd do some of the construction differently, though.

Lots of fun kids' clothes projects here.
Especially love the instructions for using clear elastic. Yay!! She's also vegbee at craftster.

Super easy, no-sew tutu.

Crimeny, I just dropped down my bookmarks in my "sewing" folder...there must be a hundred of them! Guess I'll be going through the folder and making a list for a future post.

So much for getting in to the habit of posting every day! It's been a strange couple of weeks, but we've made it through.

My mom turned 70 last week. Jessica turned 22 a few days later, and here we are nearly at the end of the month.

John, Leith and I are leaving for Scotland in just a few days (okay, nine days, still....) so the next few days will be packed with working on Arlington (one of our rental houses, but we've decided to give it a face lift and then sell it), packing for our trip, and going to see Shakespeare on the Green in Omaha. Two nights in a row. "Much Ado About Nothing" and "King Lear." I really want to see "King Lear," but...let's face it, if something's gotta give, I'd rather miss Shakespeare than Scotland!

Not doing a lot of sewing this week. I've bought quite a bit of fabric -- some of the nicer stuff, too! A lot's come in, but there are still a few outstanding packages. Here's hoping I can do a little bit of sewing before we leave, because three weeks without a sewing machine will be *tough*! Fortunately, we'll be doing some shopping while we're there, so I'll be coming home with more fabric!

Happy Father's Day honey!

You are the *best* father we could ever hope for. Here's to you for all the loving, giving, kind, generous, special and not-so-special things you do for all of us.

You are so very loved.

It was a dark and stormy night....

Yep. Another evening spent in the basement. The dank-ish, dirty, unfinished, unkempt basement. We were up and down stairs, checking out the storms from the relative safety of our first floor windows and doors. Did we remember to take down any of the wedding stuff that needs to be stored in the basement? Nope. Ah well, another day or five won't hurt anything!

As for the storms: the good news is that there was no actual tornado in Lincoln...bad news is lots of tornadoes around us. A Boy Scout camp in western Iowa was hit hard and four boys died, dozens were injured.

On another, much happier note, next week starts our bathroom remodels! Yay!! They'll do the downstairs first, then the upstairs. Several weeks worth of work, but it will be worth it.

etsy shop

refibered.etsy.com now has it's first supplies listing! Yep, one yard of yellow minkee. Yay me! lol

The shop's been "open" for several months. There's a cool banner and everything! Finally got off my duff and listed something. I'll be taking pics in the next few days and hope to list a couple of bags I've made or altered.

Feels good to finally get moving on this. I've been procrastinating, telling myself that as soon as the wedding was over I'd start listing things. Well. There ya go!

Monday Morning Quarterback

The wedding was fantastic! Everything went very well on Saturday....the heat and humidity were oppressive, but not really an issue as we were indoors for the ceremony and reception. Jess and Corey were initially concerned about street renovations outside the church....there was a bobcat parked out front and a lot of concrete torn up, but they decided to have the photographer take pics of them with the "mess."

Countdown has begun

Saturday is the day....Jess and Corey are getting married. Unfortunately, I'm in an ambivalent mood so I haven't been able to pull it together enough to do some of the little things that need to be done...gah.

Leith started back to Montessori yesterday. Which means a nice break for me in the morning. oh, and she enjoys it, too!

Not much more to 'say'....just wanting to get into the habit of posting. Here's hoping future posts are much more interesting and filled with wonderful projects and pictures.
